Halo: Reach
Halo: Reach
This prequel to the Halo series is for sure on of the best out of all the games. While playing the story mode, like the others, you can play solo or in co-op mode. The story gameplay is okay. Like most of the Halo games, it isn’t known for the story mode, but the online gameplay. As far as story modes go though it’s decent. It has its difficult parts and playing on legendary is always a blood vessel ready to pop, but it feels good once you finish it. There’s some missions were you’re up in space flying and shooting down Banshees and Drop ships, which they’ve never had in a Halo game before. I personally didn’t mind them as a change of pace, but I know a lot of people who found them very frustrating and a waste of time.
Other than the story mode the online gameplay is as fun as ever. My personal favorite feature is being able to vote for what game you’d like to play online and the ability to customize your Halo character with millions of options to do so. The voting option is a great feature vs. the Halo 3 gameplay where all you could do is veto the game. You can now either vote none of the above or pick from 3 other game options. The game are also constantly updated and new maps are made frequently to keep you interested and from the gameplay being repetitive.
As far as the customization of your halo characters they’ve added an armory that lists plenty of different kinds of armor from helmets to knee pads. You unlock more of the armory items as you play the story mode and complete it on different difficulties and when you get certain achievements. Once unlocked however you have to earn enough credits from playing online and in story mode to purchase them. Credits are given based on your performances in games and if you met any of their daily/weekly challenges.
Overall I have no major complaints about Halo Reach and I’m very much looking forward to Halo 4 coming out in November 2012.
